Industrial Disease / Asbestos
Asbestos is the most common industrial disease from the twentieth century. Its name is given to a group of minerals that occur naturally in the atmosphere as bundles of fibre that can be separated into thin, strong threads. In the early 1900’s, asbestos was used in building materials, after 1990 it was very unlikely that materials contained asbestos. Industrial disease is very common amongst staff who came into contact of them fibres in that era.
Once asbestos is touched it releases small fibres into the air. When breathed in, the asbestos fibres get trapped in the lungs and they will remain there for a long period of time. Over this time, the fibres can cause scarring and may also lead to serious health problems. Our No Win No Fee solicitors are experienced in dealing with industrial disease and asbestos claims.
